Work and Development orders allow you to work off fines with mental health treatment.

Eligible treatment for a mental health disorder under a GPMHC Plan is an alternative to paying your fine under a Work and Development Order (WDO).

How to get a WDO and treatment with Dr Felicity Grace.

1. Get a Mental Health Referral

Ask your GP for a referral under the Medicare Better Access to Mental Healthcare scheme. A plan lasts for 12 months and gives you access to 10 individual and 10 group sessions.

NB: This is important – a GPMHCPlan is automatically accepted as evidence of a mental health disorder which means you meet the criteria for a WDO. (If you have used all your plan or you do not have a MHCPlan Alternative evidence may be accepted).

Also: Joining the Monday WDO Mental Health Group (By emailing artoffelicity@gmail.com) Allows you to use your MHCPlan more effectively and access up to 20 sessions each calendar year (if you already have a psychologist you see for therapy who is not a WDO Sponsor – you do not have to use your 10 Individual sessions for our mental health treatment group under a WDO.

2. Book your MHSW Group Monday 10-11:30

Subject: I want a NSW WDO.

Choose a Monday date to begin and Complete and send the WDO intake form 

Then Art of Happiness Counselling will apply to Revenue NSW on your behalf.

3. Attend the MHSW WDO Group

Each month, Art of Happiness Counselling will advise Revenue NSW of your compliance.

Your Treatment Plan might involve attending Weekly, Fortnightly, or Monthly to fully comply.

Revenue NSW writes off up to $1,000 for each month of full compliance.

NB: Treatment months run from the 15th of the month to the 14th of the following month.

4. Cost

You and Medicare pay for the treatment = Mental Health Group. There is a $50 gap after Medicare Rebate. The WDO and compliance administration is provided free of charge.
